UMC – Behind the Gates with ABS Kids

As we continue to take a look at ‘Behind the Gates,’ our next installment of this UMC exclusive segment allowed us to sit down with ABS Kids. New to the Utah Motorsports Campus in 2023, ABS Kids provides Autism Diagnosis and center-based ABA Therapy for kids on the Autism Spectrum.

UMC: How long have you been a garage tenant at the Utah Motorsports Campus and what does the Campus provides you to aid in the successful operation of your business?

ABS Kids: We opened in the fall of 2023.  The motorsports campus is an ideal location for our therapy center allowing us plenty of space to provide separate areas for different age children which is extremely effective for the kids, especially on a social skills level.

UMC: Why did you choose UMC as your home base?

ABS Kids: The size and quality of the facility as well as the opportunity to partner with UMC on things such as our open house where UMC let our attendees get up and close with some race cars and room outdoors for a petting zoo.

UMC: For people who do not know about ABS Kids, can you tell us what you do and where your focus is?

ABS Kids: We provide Autism Diagnosis and center-based ABA Therapy for kids on the Autism Spectrum.  We work directly with the family and the diagnosing psychologists to build a customized therapy program focusing on the areas of need of the child and family.

UMC: Can you tell us a little about your customer base and your programs?

ABS Kids: Most of our clients are kids in the 2- to 12-year-old age range who are affected by autism spectrum disorder.  The kiddos come into the center for one-on-one ABA Therapy from our licensed therapists with oversight from our Board-Certified Behavioral Analysts.

UMC: Anything else you want to share with our readers?

ABS Kids: Diagnosing Autism early is the key to helping kids reach their full potential.  If you feel your child may have developmental delays you should consult with your pediatrician and advocate for diagnostic evaluations to assess the situation.  If your child is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, we have found providing them with focused social skills training before attending school helps them get off to a much better start.

UMC: Thank you for taking the time to sit down with UMC and all of this information.

ABS Kids: It’s our pleasure, thank you for taking the time to inform everyone about the services we provide.  I believe if we united forces, we can make a difference in our children’s life. UMC thank you so much for sharing your space with us. We are making a huge difference in our community.
