On August 3, UMC will host the Utah 6 Hour, an endurance race presented by our local amateur sports car racing group, the Utah Region of the National Auto Sports Association (NASA Utah).
The Utah 6 Hour is NASA Utah’s headline event of the season. Not only will it serve as Round 6 of their annual eight-round championship, it is also the five of seven rounds for the 2019 NASA Western Endurance Racing Championship, which also runs at California’s Willow Springs, Buttonwillow and Sonoma racetracks. At six hours, this is the longest of the five WERC endurance races.
As a result, our normal excellent turnout of NASA Utah entries will be augmented by WERC racers from across the western United States. Last year’s event attracted 31 teams, and organizers are hoping for even more this year.
Practice will take place on Friday, and the on Saturday normal 30-minute NASA Utah sprint races will take place at 2pm and 3pm, with the Utah 6 Hour scheduled to take the green flag at 6:00 pm.
As is the case with all our amateur events, admission is FREE for all spectators.
